Luis Scafati (Argentina) explores drawing in various ways: graphic humor and comics appear in his images, developing an eclectic style where various schools and techniques converge (ink, pencil, charcoal, watercolor, tempera, pastel and transfer). He has exhibited his work in numerous galleries and museums, both in Buenos Aires as in Uruguay, Chile, Cuba, Spain, Germany, England, Japan, together with dozens of illustrations for editorial publications. In 2006 he wrote and drew a version of Dracula edited by Libros del Zorro Rojo, also published in Brazil, UK and Czech Republic. In the 1990’s he ventured into sculpture, creating polychrome wood carvings. Years later, he expanded this relationship with volume through ceramics. He lives and works alternately in Buenos Aires with Marta Vicente, an outstanding visual artist, although part of his time is spent in Vistalba, Mendoza, in a place near the Andes mountain range. He is the illustrator of Roberto Arlt’s famous novel EL JUGUETE RABIOSO [The Mad Toy] by Erdosain Ediciones.
