Paula drew without stopping. She hid from the dark and from everything that frightened her. Later, Paula exhibited all over the world; books were written and films were made about her. Her art awakened dreams, blended fantasy with reality, and tried to turn everything upside down.
Paula Rego (1935-2022) was a Portuguese/English painter who played a key role in redefining figurative art on an international level.
