The baby looks, opens, closes, touches, bites, listens, feels, throws, looks again… this is how they learn, how they live, how they take part in the world. The Red Book and The Blue Book were created with that in mind: they are striking, highly tactile objects — like a ball, a wooden toy, or a spoon. Simple and appealing to a baby’s eyes.

Babies from zero to three years old need concrete and limited stimuli in order to focus their attention, to internalize, to form images and independent thought. Few stimuli, but powerful ones — simple and without excess. That’s why in Cocolor there are no drawings: color itself is the main character.

The visual and tactile play experience becomes complete when the books are listened to, played with, and shared in the loving company of an adult — a parent, grandparent, or teacher. This is how the child joins in the game, recognizes the colors, and experiences them through play, sound, touch, and even taste — in that object we call a book.
